Checklist for applying to Bachelor of Psychological Science / Bachelor of Psychological Science (Honours) at Bond University
IELTS Academic scores differ between Bond's two psychology programs: 7.0 overall for the Bachelor of Psychological Science and 6.5 overall for the honours program.
Bond University runs two psychology programs from its Gold Coast campus, and each has its own entry checklist. The Bachelor of Psychological Science (HS-20035) takes applicants from secondary school on an ATAR of 65 or an IB Diploma aggregate of 24. The Bachelor of Psychological Science (Honours) (HS-22002) takes graduates who already hold an APAC-accredited three-year psychology sequence and a GPA of at least 2.0 on Bond’s four-point scale. English scores, credit points and fees differ between them, so each item below sits under the program it belongs to.
Intakes and how long each program runs
Both programs are offered on campus at the Gold Coast. Both list the same four start points: September 2026, January 2027, May 2027 and September 2027.
The bachelor’s program runs 2 years across 6 semesters. The honours program runs 8 months across 2 semesters, which makes it the shorter of the two by a wide margin.
Bachelor’s entry: ATAR 65 or IB 24
The bachelor’s program lists an ATAR of 65, based on an Australian Year 12 qualification or an equivalent selection rank. The IB requirement is a Diploma with a total aggregate score of 24.
There is an early offer route. If you are in the final year of secondary school in Australia, or Year 13 in New Zealand, you can apply for an offer before you finish your studies or sit your final exams.
For applicants from China, the qualification listed is the National College Entrance Examinations (Gaokao). For applicants from Taiwan, it is the Senior High School Leaving Certificate (Academic Senior III).
Honours entry: an accredited sequence plus a GPA threshold
The honours program requires completion of an Australian Psychology Accreditation Council (APAC) accredited three-year sequence of study in psychology, or an equivalent qualification. Applicants are assessed on academic merit only.
The academic floor is a GPA of 2.0 on Bond’s four-point scale, or 65%, across all second- and third-level psychology subjects in the undergraduate degree. That means the results that count are the psychology subjects from the later years of the degree, not the degree as a whole.
Bond also lists additional entry requirements that must be met on top of the academic threshold to gain entry.
For applicants from China and Taiwan, the qualification listed for honours is a recognised four-year bachelor degree equivalent to an Australian bachelor degree.
English: the two thresholds are not the same
The bachelor’s program asks for more English than the honours program does, so check the figure that belongs to your program rather than the one you remember.
Bachelor of Psychological Science:
- IELTS Academic: 7.0 overall, with no sub-score below 6.5
- PTE Academic: 65 overall, with no communicative score below 58
Bachelor of Psychological Science (Honours):
- IELTS Academic: 6.5 overall, with no sub-score below 6.0
- PTE Academic: 58 overall, with no communicative score below 50
Credit points: how each degree is built
The bachelor’s program totals 240 credit points: 190 from compulsory subjects and 50 from electives chosen to tailor the degree.
The honours program totals 80 credit points, with 2 semesters of study.
Fees for 2027 international students
Bachelor of Psychological Science: AUD 26,200 per semester, and AUD 157,200 for the whole program.
Bachelor of Psychological Science (Honours): AUD 24,255 per semester, and AUD 48,510 for the whole program.
The per-semester rate for honours is lower than the bachelor’s rate. The program totals follow the number of semesters each program runs, 6 for the bachelor’s and 2 for honours.
Bond states that tuition is indicative and changes with the subjects you choose and the year you start, so the year of commencement sets the amount you actually pay.
The checklist, in order
- Identify which of the two programs matches the qualification you already hold.
- Match that qualification against the entry requirement listed for your program.
- Book the English test at the score your program requires.
- Collect transcripts that show the psychology subjects and grades the honours program assesses.
- Hold your English result and transcripts before you submit.
Meeting a listed requirement clears a threshold; it is not an offer of a place. Fees and admission requirements are as published by Bond University and can change, so the year you start governs the final figures.
